With the sense of anticipation created by the quality of author’s previous works, The title made me to sneak into this book and got sucked into Haruki’s fantasy world with a minimum characters to keep it light and lively. This story is about a boy who ends up in a nightmarish library where hidden rooms appear to be a labyrinth sorts with spooky environment. Here comes the few characters such as the sheep man, a mysterious girl and a starling pet to accommodate the required foundation for the story construction. How the boy escape is presented with dark humor and that’s how I visualize it. Being a short story adds up to complete the reading goals that one may have or signed up for. So nothing to complain about and hence recommend this book for the coffee table reads for its size alone.

I am a big fan of Perumal Murugan books since the time of ‘Poonachi’ and this is no different from his routine outpourings. If you like some short stories than you are good with this one and be ready for the 10 tiny tales that the author had embarked. Each story is filled with country side verbiage with ample of culture and rich heritage. Wonder if the author has liberal core beliefs or disregard of the aristocratic rules. It is a must read to taste the life of a migrant do not hesitate to welcome a stranger on an unfamiliar territory.

I like these short stories compared to big reads as this speeds up the reading challenges on the Goodreads app. 😊 The plot is about encountering a fire incident in the sacred heart school lab and how students set to find its grounds? This leads to the official start of the SMS detective agency and thus goes their investigation paths. The characters are memorable for being simple and realistic. It’s suitable for children whose interest lies in mystery or detective stories.
