Paandu left his job in India and joined a salesman’s job in a big departmental store in Canada.

On the first day, Paandu worked with full vigour.

At 6 pm:

Harry :- How much of sales did you do on the first day?

Paandu : Sir, I attended to 1 Sale.

Harry : just Only 1 sale the whole day? Usually every salesman here does 20 to 30 Sale transactions a day. Well, tell me what is the money value of your today’s one sale?

Paandu : $93300 dollars.

Harry : What! Unbelievable! But how did you do that?

Paandu : Sir, 1 person came and I sold him a small fishing hook.

Then a mazola and then finally sold a big hook. Then I sold him 1 big fishing rod and some fishing gear.

Then I asked him where does he go to catch fish and he said in the coastal area….

Then I said it would need a boat. So I took him down to the boat department and sold him a 20 ft double engine scooner boat.

When he said the boat won’t come in his VolksWagon, I took him to the auto mobile section and sold him the new Deluxe 4 x 4 blazer to carry the boat.

And when I asked him where he would be going fishing ???  He didn’t plan anything. So I took him to the camping section and sold him a six sleeper camper tent.

And then he took groceries worth  $ 200  and 2 cases of beer.

Now Harry took 2 steps back and asked : You sold all this to the man who came just to buy only 1 fish hook???

Paandu : “NO, SIR…” He ONLY Came to Buy 1 Tablet For his Headache…. I Explained to him that Fishing is the Best Way to Get Rid of Headaches !!

Harry : Where did you work before ???

Paandu : Yes, I was a Patient Relations Executive in a private hospital in India : On any Minor Complaint, We Get the Patients Tested for Pathology, ECO, ECG, TMT, CT SCAN, X-Ray, MRI etc.

Harry : Will You please sit in my chair?. I shall go to India and join a Private Hospital for Training !!!

The Power of Now book cover image

Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now” is a spiritual guide that teaches readers how to live in the present moment and free themselves from the constraints of the mind. In this review, I will discuss the story details, positive and negative aspects of the book and how readers reflect about this book?

The book is divided into ten chapters, each discussing a different aspect of living in the present moment. Tolle argues that most people are trapped in their minds, thinking about the past or the future and missing out on the beauty of the present. He offers practical advice on how to break free from this mental prison and connect with the present moment.

One of the positive aspects of the book is its simplicity. Tolle’s writing style is straightforward and easy to understand, making it accessible to readers of all backgrounds. He uses real-life examples to illustrate his points and offers practical exercises that readers can do to apply his teachings in their lives.

Another positive aspect of the book is its emphasis on spirituality without being tied to any specific religion. Tolle’s teachings are universal and can be applied by anyone, regardless of their religious beliefs. He encourages readers to find their own spiritual path and connect with the divine within themselves.

However, one negative aspect of the book is that it can be repetitive at times. Tolle tends to reiterate his main points throughout the book, which may be tedious for some readers. Well it is how I had felt. Additionally, some readers may find his teachings to be too abstract or philosophical and struggle to apply them in their daily lives. One of the most memorable quotes from the book is “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.” This quote encapsulates the central message of the book and serves as a powerful reminder to readers to stay present.

From the writer’s point of view, Tolle’s writing is both insightful and inspiring. His teachings are based on his own spiritual journey, and he speaks from a place of deep wisdom and understanding. His writing style is engaging and thought-provoking, and he encourages readers to question their own beliefs and assumptions.

Well, I am yet to contemplate on the tips and tricks, but hoping that it will help me to find greater peace and happiness in the long run. Some readers have credited that the book is transforming their entire outlook on life and helping them overcome depression and anxiety. Not that I am looking for any aid but this book is hopeful when required.

To wrap it up, “The Power of Now” is an excellent book for anyone seeking to live a more mindful and fulfilling life. Despite its occasional repetition, the book is full of practical advice and inspiring wisdom. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in spirituality, personal growth, or mindfulness. I give this book a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars for laying solutions to complex problems, motivating suggestions and uplifting advices.

Atomic Habits is a self-help book written by James Clear that emphasizes the importance of small habits in achieving great results. The book is a comprehensive guide on how to build good habits and break bad ones.

The author’s style of writing is easy to follow and engaging. He uses stories, anecdotes, and research to illustrate his points. Clear writes with a persuasive tone and is convincing in his arguments. His approach is grounded in science and practical advice, making it accessible to a wide range of readers.

One of the key points of the book is the idea that small habits, when repeated consistently, can lead to significant changes over time. Clear argues that “habits are the compound interest of self-improvement.” He also insists the importance of tracking your progress and making small adjustments along the way. “You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems,” he writes.

Another important concept in Atomic Habits is the idea of identity-based habits. Clear argues that by focusing on who you want to become rather than what you want to achieve, you are more likely to make lasting changes. “The ultimate form of intrinsic motivation is when a habit becomes part of your identity,” he writes.

Clear also provides practical advice on how to make good habits stick and break bad ones. He outlines the four laws of behavior change: make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy, and make it satisfying. He also provides strategies for overcoming common obstacles, such as procrastination and lack of motivation.

Hence, Atomic Habits is an excellent book for anyone who wants to make positive changes in their life. It is easy to read and provides practical advice that is grounded in science. Whether you want to improve your health, productivity, or relationships, this book has something to offer. As the author himself puts it, “You do not need to be a different person to make a difference. You just need to start.” I would rate this book 5 out of 5 for simple suggestions, positive rain of thoughts and self awareness mentor.

A mother has written a touching note to the teenager who taught her daughter how to use her skateboard has gone viral.
“Dear teenage boy at the skate park:
You’re probably about 15 years-old, so I don’t expect you to be very mature or for you to want a little girl on your skate ramp for that matter.
What you don’t know is that my daughter has been wanting to skateboard for months. I actually had to convince her that skateboarding wasn’t just for boys.
So when we walked up to the skate park and saw that it was full of teenaged boys who were smoking and swearing, she immediately wanted to turn around and go home.
I secretly wanted to go too because I didn’t want to have to put on my mom voice and exchange words with you.
I also didn’t want my daughter to feel like she had to be scared of anyone, or that she wasn’t entitled to that skate park just as much as you were.
So when she said, ‘Mom it’s full of older boys,’ I calmly said, ‘So what, they don’t own the skate park.’
She proceeded to go down the ramp in spite of you and your friends flying past her and grinding rails beside her.
She only had two or three runs in before you approached her and said ‘Hey, excuse me …’
I immediately prepared to deliver my ‘She’s allowed to use this park just as much as you guys’ speech when I heard you say, ‘Your feet are wrong. Can I help you?’
You proceeded to spend almost an hour with my daughter showing her how to balance and steer, and she listened to you – a feat not attained by most adults.
You held her hand and helped her get up when she fell down and I even heard you tell her to stay away from the rails so that she wouldn’t get hurt.
I want you to know that I am proud that you are part of my community, and I want to thank you for being kind to my daughter, even though your friends made fun of you for it.
She left the skate park with a sense of pride and with the confidence that she can do anything, because of you.”

I came across this book in the library and made me to snoop which seems like an engaging feast. This book is about developing soft skills on adaptability and understudy. The points highlighted here were easy to comprehend with simple examples taken from the day to day life. What I admired was the flip story at the end of the first portion. The adoption of such creativity is joyful and activity driven. I would recommend this book to anyone wanted a light read and branch out to self help category which serves the purpose of such books.

“The TRUTH is, that all of the ‘STUFF’ here on earth we work so hard to buy and accumulate … does not mean a thing.

At the end of the day … people will be cleaning out our ‘STUFF’, going through our ‘STUFF’, figuring out what to do with all of our ‘STUFF’…

This ‘STUFF’ we’ve accumulated in our life.

The only thing of VALUE that remains, are the MEMORIES and what we deposit into others.

May we all learn to spend less time accumulating ‘STUFF’ and spend way more time making MEMORIES.

Every morning in Frankfurt, Germany, you might catch a glimpse of Jenny, a horse who goes on a long walk every morning, all by herself. She has been taking the same route every morning for 14 years, ever since her owner, now 79 years old, became unable to ride. She enjoys greeting all of the familiar faces along the way, and she stops and gets treats and pettings from some of her favorite humans. The locals treat her like a celebrity and happily clean up after her. A piece of paper is attached to her halter that reads, “My name is Jenny. I didn’t run away, I’m just walking. Thank you.” But the police get calls frequently from people who don’t know about the arrangement. They are very familiar with the horse and the owner, and there have been no incidents in 14 years. A local veterinarian gives her routine checkups and continues to find her to be healthy and showing no anxiety about her unique lifestyle.

Two Frogs in the Milk

This is the story of two frogs. One frog was fat and the other skinny. One day, while searching for food, they inadvertently jumped into a vat of milk. They couldn’t get out, as the sides were too slippery, so they were just swimming around.

The fat frog said to the skinny frog, “Brother frog, there’s no use paddling any longer. We’re just going to drown, so we might as well give up.” The skinny frog replied, “Hold on brother, keep paddling. Somebody will get us out.” And they continued paddling for hours.

After a while, the fat frog said, “Brother frog, there’s no use. I’m becoming very tired now. I’m just going to stop paddling and drown. It’s Sunday and nobody’s working. We’re doomed. There’s no possible way out of here.” But the skinny frog said, “Keep trying. Keep paddling. Something will happen, keep paddling.” Another couple of hours passed.

The fat frog said, “I can’t go on any longer. There’s no sense in doing it because we’re going to drown anyway. What’s the use?” And the fat frog stopped. He gave up. And he drowned in the milk. But the skinny frog kept on paddling.

Ten minutes later, the skinny frog felt something solid beneath his feet. He had churned the milk into butter and he hopped out of the vat.
