Paandu left his job in India and joined a salesman’s job in a big departmental store in Canada.

On the first day, Paandu worked with full vigour.

At 6 pm:

Harry :- How much of sales did you do on the first day?

Paandu : Sir, I attended to 1 Sale.

Harry : just Only 1 sale the whole day? Usually every salesman here does 20 to 30 Sale transactions a day. Well, tell me what is the money value of your today’s one sale?

Paandu : $93300 dollars.

Harry : What! Unbelievable! But how did you do that?

Paandu : Sir, 1 person came and I sold him a small fishing hook.

Then a mazola and then finally sold a big hook. Then I sold him 1 big fishing rod and some fishing gear.

Then I asked him where does he go to catch fish and he said in the coastal area….

Then I said it would need a boat. So I took him down to the boat department and sold him a 20 ft double engine scooner boat.

When he said the boat won’t come in his VolksWagon, I took him to the auto mobile section and sold him the new Deluxe 4 x 4 blazer to carry the boat.

And when I asked him where he would be going fishing ???  He didn’t plan anything. So I took him to the camping section and sold him a six sleeper camper tent.

And then he took groceries worth  $ 200  and 2 cases of beer.

Now Harry took 2 steps back and asked : You sold all this to the man who came just to buy only 1 fish hook???

Paandu : “NO, SIR…” He ONLY Came to Buy 1 Tablet For his Headache…. I Explained to him that Fishing is the Best Way to Get Rid of Headaches !!

Harry : Where did you work before ???

Paandu : Yes, I was a Patient Relations Executive in a private hospital in India : On any Minor Complaint, We Get the Patients Tested for Pathology, ECO, ECG, TMT, CT SCAN, X-Ray, MRI etc.

Harry : Will You please sit in my chair?. I shall go to India and join a Private Hospital for Training !!!

How would you define the life altering experience with the consumption of drugs and its repercussions gawking with loathe and misery? I never imagined of someone from ancient time to discuss this historical record of substance abuse, addictions in such a fashion. Since this book is neither a thesis for psychological analysis nor medical study, however, it resembles and has proximity towards it. Beginning with an introduction of the author background and his reasons to adopt such habit will question the behavior behind his actions. But his experiences chronicle in volumes on sufferings, self scrutiny, loneliness and dissatisfaction with life. Not because he chooses this to self destruct but to quieten the pain signals he suffers from unknown disease. A complete emotional, physical and psychological retreat is what I describe about this book.

I learned how the mental illness is berated and still find its issues are deafened. It saddens me to resemble the fate of many silent sufferers and baffles that only when something pertinent is surfaced the focus fades away in the burning problems on hand. Modern psychology gains awareness from the predecessor’s psychological issues of that era and shows the importance of analyzing, then traumas, agony, solitary confinement faced by the world war survivors. This tells us that mental diseases do not cause by chemical imbalances alone since there is no legitimacy claims to prove it. I love this thought seeding point “”Wellness” is too often a thin sugarcoating applied to the bitter pill that late capitalism has prescribed us”. I had a memorable read of this book and request all to check the nuggets of wisdom in here.

Just finished reading this book by Fredrick Backman. This story deserves a pat for the presentation of weaving the fairy tale into the main plot. I liked Elsa’s questionnaires, It was so inquisitive. At places I found the resemblance of “P.S. I Love you” story structure catering to younger audience. A nice standalone book with some morals thrown in there.

This book is a pictorial representation of the world of introverts. From social seclusion, finding partners to employments is well coiled within this informative nuggets. There are lots of moments that are highly relatable and certain graphics will tickle the bones! I felt like Debbie was a mirror image of me at places. This can be served as a manifesto at schools to explain about the nature of introverted people and hope it receives its deserved recognition.

As I sat in the park after my morning walk, My Friend came and slumped next to me.

He had completed his 30-minute jog. We chatted for a while. He said he is not happy in life.

I looked up at him sheer disbelief since he seemed to have the best of everything in life

“Why do you think so I asked my friend?”

“I don’t know. Everyone tells I have everything needed, but I am not happy.”

Then I questioned myself, am I happy?  “No,” was my inner voice reply. Now, that was an eye-opener for me.

I began my quest to understand the real cause of my unhappiness, I couldn’t find one. I dug deeper, read articles, spoke to life coaches but nothing made sense. At last my doctor friend gave me the answer which put all my questions and doubts to rest.

I implemented those and will say I am a lot happier person.

Doctor 👨‍⚕ said there are four hormones which determine a human’s happiness – Endorphins, Dopamine, Serotonin, and Oxytocin.

It is important we understand these hormones, as we need all four of them to stay happy.

Let’s look at the first hormone the Endorphins. When we exercise, the body releases Endorphins. This hormone helps the body cope with the pain of exercising. We then enjoy exercising because these Endorphins will make us happy. Laughter is another good way of generating Endorphins. We need to spend 30 minutes exercising every day, read or watch funny stuff to get our day’s dose of Endorphins.

The second hormone is Dopamine. In our journey of life, we accomplish many little and big tasks, it releases various levels of Dopamine. When we get appreciated for our work at the office or at home, we feel accomplished and good, that is because it releases Dopamine. This also explains why most housewives are unhappy since they rarely get acknowledged or appreciated for their work. Once, we join work, we buy a car, a house, the latest gadgets, a new house so forth. In each instance, it releases Dopamine and we become happy. Now, do we realize why we become happy when we shop?

The third hormone Serotonin is released when we act in a way that benefits others. When we transcend ourselves and give back to others or to nature or to the society, it releases Serotonin. Even, providing useful information on the internet like writing information blogs, answering people’s questions on Quora or Facebook groups will generate Serotonin. That is because we will use our precious time to help other people via our answers or articles.

The final hormone is Oxytocin, is released when we become close to other human beings. When we hug our friends or family Oxytocin is released. The “Jhadhoo Ki Jhappi” (Cuddle) from Munnabhai (Indian Movie) does really work. Similarly, when we shake hands or put our arms around someone’s shoulders, various amounts of Oxytocin is released. Now, we can understand why we need to hug a child who has a bad mood.

*So, it is simple, we have to exercise every day to get Endorphins, we have to accomplish little goals and get Dopamine, we need to be nice to others to get Serotonin and finally hug our kids, friends, and families to get Oxytocin and we will be happy.*

*When we are happy, we can deal with our challenges and problems better*

The life of introverted person is nicely depicted in this novel and, if famous for their online persona then, nothing holds back till satisfies their quench. I got sucked into their fan fiction story which runs parallel and offers the glimpses of an active moderator of the forum. The communications between the Elisa online pal and the growing bonds with the Wallace friends displays the thin line between online and offline contacts. When email is sent by Olivia Kane, Eliza weighs the pros and cons of fan art with a pile of life wisdom to contemplate. This YA fiction calls for a universal embrace of addressing the issues befall upon a recluse and the inner monsters which are harmless in my opinion.

This story is about a boy who loses his mother, dislikes his father for getting remarried and envious on the arrival of his new stepbrother. It starts as a regular drama which moves into a fantasy land and ends up inculcating the importance of various psychological phases of one’s life. It cannot be limited to a youth alone genres because it has some spookiness mood as well. I have found a great mirror of self analysis through this book and hope the same for everyone who does.

Secondly, Having the right and enlightening doctor is pure luck considering the conditions and gruesome functionary of the medical world. When Dr Najar diagnoses Susannah from her drawings of the clock moved me so much that can’t express in words. This graphical novel talks about Juniper who gets a scholarship to study at Ellsmere. She befriends Cass her roommate and the affinity among them is beautifully penned and articulated by the author. There is a fantasy story embedded which gives views on having a righteous action. The plot closes by leaving a refreshed feeling and full of friendship aroma. And ensures a harmonious ending as hoped. Thoroughly enjoyed.
